Outstanding Chenin Blanc from the Loire. Christmas dessert wine tonight. Longevity is the key element here. Coteaux du Layon rarely gets much botrytis, and consequently many of the sweeter-styled chenin blancs are a result of the grapes dehydrating on the vine, rather than being concentrated by noble rot. Not bad fir 1968 vintage. #moulintouchais

This wine is an Italian Pinot Grigio from Treviso, in the Eastern vineyards of the Veneto region. It has a crisp, delicate & pleasantly fruity palate, finishing light & dry. It has a straw yellow colour and mellow aroma and is a perfect complement to seafood, chicken or pork.

What a pleasant surprise. This 2011 has Botrytis cinerea fungus called noble rot which increases the sugar content, acidity, and glycerol content of the grape clusters. Grape varieties grown are Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle. Slightly sweeter than a typical Sauternes but good Semillon fruit. #chateaularame #saintecroixdumont

Outstanding Italian from Barbera 80% , Pinot Noir 20% from Monferrato, Piemonte. The vineyards form which "Le Grive" comes are in Loazzolo (Langa, Astigiana, Pimonte). The vineyards are surrounded by a thick juniper bushes from which the Grive (thrush) eat during the winter months.

A very impressive wolf blass from the McLaren Vale. Here is what I get on nose, palate and lingering aftertaste: rich blackberry fruit, liquorice and lovely oak. Then I get dark chocolate, spices and balanced acidity on the palate. Buy some now. #wolfblasswines #greylabel #Shiraz #mclarenvale
